FAQ

Do you accept projects from small companies and individuals?

Yes. Since we are based in San Francisco we frequently interact and work with Silicon Valley startups, understand your budget limitations and try to work around them to help you get your projects developed.

If your startup is budget-constrained, if you are willing to share your business plan with us and it is a promising project, and if you are willing to partially self-fund the development of your project, we can waive a large percentage of the cost of the project in exchange for equity on your startup.

Please note: we do not accept equity-exclusive compensation. We always require at least a small percentage funded with cash.

Do you provide engineering hiring services or temporary workers?

No. We are not a temporary work agency, our engineers will not be individually assigned to your company to work on premises under your management. We work on a contract-basis as freelancers: we meet with you, collect your project requirements, and then we will develop it as an independent team before delivering it back to you.

What is a microcontroller?

A microcontroller is a programmable Integrated Circuit that contains a CPU, RAM and permanent data storage.

Microcontrollers contain their own firmware, that is, the software core that interacts with the rest of an electronic circuit.

Microcontrollers are commonly used to read data input from users (buttons, touch sensors, switches, proximity sensors...) and from sensors (temperature, pressure, acceleration...), provide feedback or an action (indicator lights, displays, control motors, generate sounds...) and exchange information with other systems (computers, smartphones, operator terminals, servers...).

What are Embedded Systems?

In simple terms, Embedded Systems are electronic circuits based on a programmable controller (a microcontroller, a microprocessor, a DSP, an FPGA, a custom IC/chip...).

Development of an embedded system usually requires a team specialized in digital electronic design (to make the PCB), firmware (to program the integrated controller, such as a microcontroller) and software (to remotely control the system from a PC, industrial terminal, smartphone, etc.

Our team at Devters has all the required skills and can help your company develop custom Embedded Systems.

Ready to take your project to the next level?

Now it's time to move forward and let your ideas become reality. We can discuss your project needs by phone, email, or face to face in the San Francisco Bay Area.
